The shelf above the bed head is rather low and it is very easy to bump into it. The duvet is rather short for an adult.

"Our stay at Steigenberger was very pleasant, the same day we started with a spa treatment - the Pharaoh bath, we got a special deal two for one. We had 3 massage therapists who took care of us💆‍♀️Higly recommending it! But let's get back to the beginning, we got welcomed by Ahmed, who gave us a beautiful room with a balcony facing the Nile. For many a dream come true.. You will be welcomed wih a refreshing cold hibiscus tea. The breakfast buffet there has a huge selection and in the evening you can also have a dinner buffet with a view to the Nile if you sit outside. There are two pools, gym, some stores with souvenirs around the hotel and even a swing to take a beautiful sunset picture with a view to the Nile. Thank you Ahmed for your assistance, we felt very welcome thanks to you. 💯☺️"

The surrounding area is poor, but don't be scared, the locals are welcoming and kind. Sometimes you have to be patient so order your breakfast early if you have an adventure day planned.

You need a car to get to the property from the boat ferry in Fare. It takes an hour and 20 mins to walk.

"Beautiful setting amongst lush vegetation. Fantastic rooms and bungalows with a wooden construction and lovingly updated for tourism. Lovely place to relax and unwind. Quiet location, but either a 10-15minute walk to Chethy beach, which is huge and deserted or a 5 minute tuk-tuk ride to Marari beach where there are more snack shacks and facilities."

Would have liked a kettle to make tea/coffee and a fridge, but don’t let that minor detail put you off…it’s beautiful.

"Location for us was wonderful. Nice views, quiet village, close to a few beautiful hikes. Spacious apartment with a kitchen that had everything you needed (no oven, no foods like salt/sugar/butter/tea/coffee, so bring your own) and a large balcony. Kind host with sweet dog."

Accueil très rapide, aucune information, pas de code wifi. Pas possible de se baigner dans la piscine, le robot était dedans durant notre séjour. Salle d'eau pas très propre. "This is not a standard hotel or gite or whatever, this is a special place. Expect no luxury here, this is not what Karims guesthouse is about. It is about being in a small village and in nature. Basically, this is as close to a home stay as you can book on Booking. You can choose a room or the stilted house (recommended) in a garden full of interesting plants. Your water comes from a well or the river, your coffee directly from the bushes around you, and the food from...actually I don't know where, but it is amazing. One of the Kpime waterfalls is just a short, but nice walk away, and you can roam the village or take a long walk to Yikpa waterfall (~4 h one way). And when you come back, you lay in a hammock with a fresh and local cocoa or sit in the garden. And the best, you don't need to be in Kpalime, with all the chaos, noise, and smells. Although it is something different, I really enjoyed my stay. Karim is a fantastic host and La montagne verde exactly my type of stay."

Just be aware what you are booking, and there is nothing negative about it.
