"The accommodation was very nice. My moto-friend and myself used the fridge to store some food, locally bought in the supermarket. There as no front/backyard to park motorbikes. We however parked in front of the house. We felt confident to park them outside. Nice Mountain view from the balcony."

"This is not a standard hotel or gite or whatever, this is a special place. Expect no luxury here, this is not what Karims guesthouse is about. It is about being in a small village and in nature. Basically, this is as close to a home stay as you can book on Booking. You can choose a room or the stilted house (recommended) in a garden full of interesting plants. Your water comes from a well or the river, your coffee directly from the bushes around you, and the food from...actually I don't know where, but it is amazing. One of the Kpime waterfalls is just a short, but nice walk away, and you can roam the village or take a long walk to Yikpa waterfall (~4 h one way). And when you come back, you lay in a hammock with a fresh and local cocoa or sit in the garden. And the best, you don't need to be in Kpalime, with all the chaos, noise, and smells. Although it is something different, I really enjoyed my stay. Karim is a fantastic host and La montagne verde exactly my type of stay."

Just be aware what you are booking, and there is nothing negative about it.

Choose this place only if you have car or love to hike. Unfortunately, we didn’t check and it turned out that to come to this place you need to go up all the time, which is like 3 km. We didn’t have car so we walk there. Of course it’s just our oversight, but i wish it would be written in the description. Nevertheless the views were stunning.

"Our stay at Steigenberger was very pleasant, the same day we started with a spa treatment - the Pharaoh bath, we got a special deal two for one. We had 3 massage therapists who took care of us💆‍♀️Higly recommending it! But let's get back to the beginning, we got welcomed by Ahmed, who gave us a beautiful room with a balcony facing the Nile. For many a dream come true.. You will be welcomed wih a refreshing cold hibiscus tea. The breakfast buffet there has a huge selection and in the evening you can also have a dinner buffet with a view to the Nile if you sit outside. There are two pools, gym, some stores with souvenirs around the hotel and even a swing to take a beautiful sunset picture with a view to the Nile. Thank you Ahmed for your assistance, we felt very welcome thanks to you. 💯☺️"

The surrounding area is poor, but don't be scared, the locals are welcoming and kind. Sometimes you have to be patient so order your breakfast early if you have an adventure day planned.

Ils ont un restaurant avec du choix à la carte, ce qui est un point fort puisqu’on est dans un tout petit village où il n’y a pas grand chose Attention, le village de Kong Lor est très éloigné de Na Hin. Notre auberge nous avait dit qu’on ne mettrait que 40 minutes à rejoindre l’auberge. On a mis 1h30, ne vous faites pas surprendre par la nuit qui tombe. C’est dangereux entre les nids-de-poule et les vaches en plein milieu de la route"

"Beautiful setting amongst lush vegetation. Fantastic rooms and bungalows with a wooden construction and lovingly updated for tourism. Lovely place to relax and unwind. Quiet location, but either a 10-15minute walk to Chethy beach, which is huge and deserted or a 5 minute tuk-tuk ride to Marari beach where there are more snack shacks and facilities."

Would have liked a kettle to make tea/coffee and a fridge, but don’t let that minor detail put you off…it’s beautiful.

"There was nothing to really "like" - nothing standing out - IMHO room facilities, decoration, bathroom and bedding where merely acceptable."

The owner's agony on low power consumption is obvious. 1) the fuse controling TV & AirConditioner was off - had to do a bit of troubleshooting in order to get the TV operational 2) lighting in the room extremely low 3) stove required ~45 minutes to prepare one cup of coffee. The road to get to the property is suitable for one way traffic. If you crossed with another vehicle one of the two would have to reverse. Pet friendliness was limited to the owner's pets and was not extended to the guests' pets. The owner resented the fact that I traveled with my pet noticing that I should have informed up-front.
