"I really like the concept of this place. It's affordable, and the proceeds go to the animals. The terrace in our room was great. There was a super cute cat tablecloth on the table."

"Close to harbour, and beach. Spacious room, even had a balcony and private bathroom. Rooms clean and bedding fresh. Kitchen facilities if required, group room with games. One house cat, though others appear at the back door at breakfast time. Sylvia helped with any problems such as ferry times. Extremely lovely welcome, quick response to messages. Lovely place to stay."

"Good, comfortable stay. It's well-located in a nice neighbourhood, a short walk from the town centre and not far from the ferry port. My dorm had just 2 single beds in it and there was a nice lounge area as well as a fully equipped kitchen, including a fridge and kettle."

"Amazing stay! I really felt at home. Silvia welcomed me as if we had known each other for a lifetime, giving me all the information I needed and incredibly valuable advice. I had a wonderful time. The property is beautiful and clean, and the room I shared was on the second floor with a fantastic shared terrace offering stunning views. The area is quiet, yet all services are just a short walk from the beach and the town center. Highly recommended!.. …and the cause they support is fantastic! Very good vibes!"

"Apart from being a hostel, they are a animal shelter/ charity for straight animal and the owner has her own veterinary clinic which is very lovely."

"Very nice hostel close to the beach in Mindelo. Staff were kind and the room was comfy. Nice terrace at the top of the hostel for hanging out in the evenings."

"This is a no nonsense, no frills place. If you want good, honest, very reasonably priced accommodation then this is the place for you in Mindelo. By using it you are also funding a charity for abandoned and stray dogs and cats. It has a classic hostel vibe with communal areas, shared bathrooms and a shared kitchen and our fellow guests were quiet and courteous (and significantly younger than us!). Silvia is a great personality and a great host and we could have stayed way longer chatting to her."
"Some hot water would have been nice. It is a good 15-20 min walk from the centre but taxis were cheap and readily available for lifts home"
"We booked only to stay for a few hours as our ferry docked at 10 am and our flight was at 9:15 pm. But the experience was good! It's a lovely hostel, the owner was welcoming and kind. She even gave us a better room, to have our own bathroom, even if we only used it to rest a little and take a shower. The hostel is also a shelter for dogs and cats, which are super nice and adorable. I wish we could have stayed longer"
