The toilet somehow plugged and the water flowed all over the place during my stay. But thankfully, the staff acted really quickly and fix the problem. The roommates also volunteered to help. We started to chat and become friends. It was a really warming experience at the end. Also, I would appreciate if the breakfast can be more elaborate.

Lack of privacy in shared bedroom but that was okay. I could live with that.

"It's a basic place, but nice. The bathroom is clean and functional (and great hot water). The bedroom is perfectly fine for a night or two, but would struggle with lots of packing and unpacking if you were staying a while. Owner is super super friendly and nice."

"Had a comfortable stay here for 1 night layover, Dany was a great host. I enjoyed visiting the night market nearby where you get to see a slice of local life. The dorm room is quite basic but great for the price, and bathroom facilities were clean."

No curtains on the bed. I also was charged twice for my stay here a long time after I left which was disappointing to see but I did get refunded.

"A short stroll from the main drag and market, but without the noise.A fully equipped kitchen, a shady garden, plenty of toilets and showers hot aswell, in the dormitory section,all kept clean throughout day, for breakfast i recommend you go to Kumba Lodge, turn left and walk along the beach for 15 minutes, youll see it up on the ridge, dont forget to take sandals as the sand maybe too hot to walk on coming back.Nice secluded back garden.You can walk to Barra, by turning left, walk atound the headland, places yo eat and drink there, anout 8kms one way, take plenty of water."

Единственно не харесахме че не може с кола да се стигне до мястото,но на близо има паркинг.Мястото се намира в голям парк до реката,така че от хотела до колата се разхождаме до колата и не се усеща липса,че неможем да спрем точно до хотела с кола.

"I like that its near the tram station and near the tourist site. Best of all, as a solo traveller, the one thing i like is that i feel safe around the area and the hostel itself. Would recommend to other solo female travelers."

"Everything. The place is beautiful, super cozy, and very clean. You can really feel the love and attention to detail everywhere. The chill areas are great to relax, and the breakfast was more than decent. Amélie, the owner, is an amazing host – so kind, welcoming, and always ready to help. Her Auberge is truly a dream."

The only small downside was the location being a bit far from the central bus station, but that’s just a personal preference and didn’t affect the overall great experience.

"It's a cozy hostel with a nice common area, warm shower, enough space everywhere, a small breakfast included, in a nice neighbourhood more relaxed than Old Dhaka, and reasonably close to the metro into the city centre (walkable, or take a rickshaw). It's also close enough to the airport and railway station (by tuktuk or Uber). It has nice restaurants nearby, coffee places and Western fastfood options if you're into that. It is well worth the price of a bed, and probably the only good option in the country if you are a solo traveler/backpacker and you want to meet other travelers. Armin, who manages the Hostel, is a friendly, easy-going guy, and helpful."

The mattresses are a little thin, but to be honest, that was the case in most places in Bangladesh. Don't expect the Hilton when it comes to cleanliness, and you'll be fine.
